With only three grounds open this weekend the AFL have rescheduled Prem Men, Prem Women and U19 Div 1 to proceed tomorrow as per the below. All other games are postponed until the 11th June, with the possible exception of Prem Reserves (under review).
Tomorrow at Weldon Oval:
12:30pm – Womens Seniors v Manly
2:30pm – Mens Seniors v Manly
4:45pm – Under 19s Div 1 v Manly
Regrettably this means we again lose our GHO home games, but host four neutral matches. As frustrating as this is, in fairness it would be problematic for competitive equity if all North Shore home games went ahead across all grades, when no or few other teams within those same grades were playing. Hence, the scheduled changes give all teams the best chance to compete in all games on an even footing.
Basically, the weather sucks, we just have to make the most of it. It is important to protect our canteen revenue and ask that players meet their home match day duties as scheduled, or find an alternative, or advise Peter McCutcheon as a last resort if unable to cover. We are very grateful for those that did so last week and extend the same gratitude to those putting their hands up tomorrow. In recognition of those serving, not playing, we will recalibrate the roster post Easter to balance out their contribution across the full playing list.
