As we prepare for the 2024 season, it’s time to get registered and get your player membership fees organised for the upcoming season. The AFL requires registration for every season, so even if you played for us last season, you’ll still need to register for 2024 before we can get you onto a team sheet.
Our aspiration has been to limit increases in membership fees and we’re pleased to say that we’ve able to hold our membership fees at 2023 levels, despite the high level of cost increases over the past few years.
There are often queries about membership fees, so it’s worth noting that they contribute to a wide range of costs such ground hire, affiliation fees, insurance, physio, tape, footies, club umpires, league appointed umpires, bank & accounting fees, trophies and depreciation and so on. These costs are now in excess of $700 per player, with the difference between our membership fees and the full cost being filled in with other fund raising.
One of our biggest costs relative to other clubs is the hire of Gore Hill Oval. While the hire of the ground represents a significant cost differential, it does provide us with a unique surface that allows high volume training for nearly 10 months of the year, regardless of how much it’s rained. We also get fewer injuries on it. These are benefits that definitely aren’t enjoyed by members of other clubs.

Memberships payments will again be made through PlayHQ, in the same way as they were last year. It’s worth noting that PlayHQ has a new option called Paypal 4 that allows for payments to be made in 4 instalments over 6 weeks. If you take up this option before the expiry of the Early Bird membership offer (6th of April), you’ll still be able to access the Early Bird rate.
