Luke Parks

We’ve seen plenty of North Shore players over the years move on to test themselves at higher levels of the game. And another Bomber makes his way into the most elite company this weekend; as Luke Parks makes his AFL debut on Sunday.

Luke was a local North Shore junior, and made his way into our Under 19s team; playing in the 2018 Grand Final. He also made his way into the Senior team at North Shore, and also played for the Swans Reserves in the old NEAFL competition.

After the 2019 season, he made his way to Adelaide and played for Glenelg in the SANFL. At the 2020 AFL Rookie Draft, Carlton called Parks’ name and he made his way to Princes Park to join the Blues for the 2021 season.

After impressing at training and in trial games, Luke has been picked to play at AFL level as Carlton take on Fremantle at Marvel Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

It’s a great reward for someone who’s always worked hard at his footy.

Luke will join the likes of Callum Mills, Sam Naismith and Ryan Davis among recent players who have made their way from North Shore into the AFL. The opportunities are there.

Good luck for Sunday and for the games to come. We know you’ll give it your best shot and it’ll be great to have another North Shore Bomber make it to the big time.
