Covid-19 Protocols for Return to Competition.

Hello Folks,

As of this evening, we have received updated requirements for compliance to Covid-19.

In essence, the NSW Government and the AFL would like us to re-energise our efforts to combat Covid-19 and we have one or two new measures to apply.

The club has actions underway to manage the facilities at Gore Hill Oval and some of these will be apparent when you get to the ground. They include;

Restrictions on the use of rooms, including no team meetings in the rooms

No access for spectators to the ground itself.

Additional signage

Gloves and masks in the canteen.

No cash at the canteen – card only

No BBQ

Enforcement of social distancing, particularly around the rooms

In addition to the management of the venue, we need all players and their supporters to;

Not come to the ground and to isolate from everyone at the club if they have been in Victoria in the past 14 days.

Not come to the ground and to isolate from the club if they have attended any of the venues listed on the NSW Health website (https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates).

Minimise the number of spectators at the ground.

Avoid backing up to play in multiple teams in a round.

Not come to the ground and to isolate from everyone at the club if they are unwell.

Only use your own water bottle and to fill it up yourself.

Bring your own snacks to the ground and don’t share them.

Use the hand sanitiser that will be provided.

Reduce the use of showers as much as possible.

In addition to the above, there will be no water runners or snacks provided to teams. So please bear that in mind and make sure you have enough water on the ground to see the game out.

Please also make sure that your water bottle/s are clearly marked.

It’s a new and different environment and I am sorry that we can’t provide you with some of the things that we really enjoy at footy (love the manager’s lollies), but the good news is that after the longest pre-season in history, we’ve finally made it to round 1.

Good luck.

John Goode – President
