The wet weather catch-up weekend saw five matches played. Gore Hill wasn’t required to host any catch-up games, with three games at Macquarie Uni, one at Bensons Lane and one at Olds Park.
Two of our teams, Mens Division Two and Under 19.5s Division Two, got the chocolates.

MENS
Division Two always looked to have things under control in their game at Macquarie Uni. There was only a goal in it at the first change, but the Warriors were unable to score a goal in the second or third quarters as the Bombers drew out to an unassailable lead. The final margin was 28 points; with Toby Bartrop, Austin Brown and James Nettle featuring prominently.
It was a difficult draw for Division Four, travelling to Bensons Lane to take on Hawkesbury. The Bombers stayed in contact for a half, with just 12 points separating the two teams at the long break. But the Bombers were unable to score a goal in the third, while the Jets established a match-winning lead. Ryan Heath, Alex Freilinger and Tristan Hackett worked hard, but it wasn’t the Bombers’ day.
Under 19.5s Division Two showed some never-say-die spirit when they came from behind to record a 10-point win over St George at Olds Park. The Bombers trailed at every break but kept the work-rate going; and got reward for effort in the last quarter as they finished full of running, kicking the only three goals of the final quarter to take the win. Lucas McCartney, Tom Venter and Sam Clift played key roles to get the Bombers over the line.

WOMENS
It wasn’t a great day for Division Two at Macquarie Uni. Missing several regulars from the team, they weren’t able to score in the first three quarters against a very strong Warriors team. Imogen Johnson, Phoebe Barry and Natasha Newham worked hard, but it was one of those days when little was going right, and the Bombers went down by 74 points.
Division Three also had a tough day at Macquarie Uni. Short on numbers and without rotations, the Bombers were unable to trouble the scorers, going down by 88 points. Best players were not available at the time of writing.
