It was another busy footy weekend for the Bombers. Womens Premier Division and Womens Division Two had the bye, while Mens Division Five got a forfeit win when Inner West Magpies were unable to field a team. Our other 11 teams took the field.
Of the 11 games played, it was a successful weekend, with nine of them taking the points. Mens Premier Division returned to the top of the ladder away at Campbelltown, while Mens Division One and Under 19.5s Division One were also successful there. Four out of six at home took the points. And on a wet Sunday afternoon at Henson Park, Womens Division One got up in a low-scoring close one.

MENS
Premier Division took on the long drive to Macquarie Fields for a date with South-West Sydney. Kicking the first three goals of the game, the Bombers ensured they would be in front throughout; and by half time the lead was extended to 33 points. The Bombers parked the bus in the second half, and there was no way for the Blues to get back into the contest. Cooper Donald, Max Thomas and Mitch Rogers were influential for the Bombers as they returned to top spot on the premiership ladder.
An explosive second quarter was the difference for Division One in their clash with South-West Sydney at Bob Prenter. Held scoreless in the first term, the Bombers sprang to life in the second quarter with a run of seven goals to turn the quarter time deficit into a 20-point half time lead. The Bombers were never threatened in the second half as they went on to record a 32-point win. Goal-scorers and best players were not available at the time of writing.
Division Two were in the late game at Gore Hill, taking on UTS. The game was a see-sawing affair for the first three quarters, with just four points separating the teams at three quarter time. But the Bats pulled away in the last quarter, and the Bombers would go down by 28 points. Sam Clancy, Charlie Flude and Cameron Thomas worked hard all evening, but it wasn’t our day.
In the blink of an eye, Division Three had three goals on the board against Camden; ensuring they would be in front all day while the Cats were forced into attempting to play catch-up footy. It was a strong performance by our Fourths, who have hit some solid form in recent weeks. Jamie Bennetts, Liam Fardy and Eddie Court were standouts as the Bombers continued their rise up the ladder.
It was another heart-breaker for Division Four, as for the third game in a row they were beaten by less than a goal. The Bombers led at the last change against Parramatta, but fell behind in the last quarter. Despite creating chances, the Bombers were unable to find the goal to regain the lead and went down by a point. Hayden Ford, Felix McIntosh and Nick Parker battled gamely, but it was to be another day of heartache.
There were few worries for Under 19.5s Division One as they comfortably accounted for South-West Sydney by 62 points at Bob Prenter. The Bombers led all afternoon, with the margin increasing in the second half as the Blues were unable to score a goal after half time. Mitch Dettman landed four goals; while Zach Duane, Sam Cooper and Levi Macri played pivotal roles around the ground in another solid North Shore performance.
Under 19.5s Division Two were given a run for their money by a determined Magpies team in the early game at Gore Hill. The Bombers led throughout, but never by much; with only a kick separating the teams at the breaks. With the game in the balance in the final quarter, the Bombers were able to come up with the key goals to secure a 13-point win. Jensen Brownlaw, James Rees-Woods and James Martin-Jury stood up when the game was there to be won, as the Bombers did enough to pick up the points.

WOMENS
It was a Sunday special for Division One, taking on Newtown at Henson Park. The heavens opened, and with a slippery ball on heavy ground, it was tough going out there. In a low-scoring game, the Bombers scored two goals in the first half but were only up by a point at the last change. But the Bombers hung on in a tense last quarter in which neither team scored a goal. Grace Thomas, Lauren Bird and Phillipa Studdert dug deep when the game was tight and played key roles in getting the Bombers over the line.
Division Three’s second win of the season came in resounding and comprehensive style, as our Fourths recording a 100-point win over UTS at Gore Hill. From the start, it was clear that this was the Bombers’ day, and they extended their lead in every quarter and held the Bats to just two goals. Georgie de Montemas spearheaded the charge with five goals; while Hannah Lewis and Emma Borkman were in the thick of the action around the ground.
Under 20s put in their best game of the season to date to comfortably account for Parramatta by 79 points at Gore Hill. The Goannas were held to two scoring shots for the game as the Bombers controlled proceedings around the ground, comfortably winning every quarter. Emma Byrne was the spearhead up forward to finish with four goals; while Willow Orsini, Keona Galea and Annalyse Rowe were pivotal around the ground in a strong Bomber performance.
