It was a full round of matches on Saturday, with all 13 of our teams in action. Our Premier Division teams were away at Mike Kenny Oval against Pennant Hills, with both successful in taking the points.
It was a mixed bag of results for our other teams, with Mens Division One, Division Two, Division Three, Division Four and Womens Under 20s all taking out wins; but our other teams were unable to pull off the results in their matches.
Next week our Premier Division teams hit the road for the third week in a row as they play East Coast at Bruce Purser. We also have a full card of matches at Gore Hill, including a rare Friday night game for Mens Division Five.

MENS
Premier Division maintained top spot on the ladder with a 25-point win on the road against Pennant Hills at Mike Kenny Oval. Down by a goal at the long break, the Bombers made the decisive move in the third quarter, a run of five goals to one in the premiership quarter turning the half time deficit into a 19-point lead. It was a solid test, but the Bombers prevailed on the day. Nick Brewer, Nick Pavlou and Cooper Donald were influential in a hard-fought win.
Division One also had the third quarter being the key passage of play in their clash against the Demons at Mike Kenny. The Demons were 11 points ahead at half time, but the Bombers then got on top in the third with a five goals to one third term to take a 17-point lead. The Bombers would go on to take out a 15-point win, maintaining top spot on the ladder. James Larkey landed four goals; while Kieran Fulton, Matt Folkes and Sam Clancy played key roles to get the Bombers over the line.
Division Two was no contest, as the Bombers dominated from start to finish to record a 117-point win over East Coast at Gore Hill. Ahead by 19 points at the first change, it became one-way traffic in the second as the Bombers ran through eight goals to one for the quarter. Going on with the job in the second half, it was a comprehensive performance. Jackson Capp slammed six goals through the big sticks and Seb Wood four; while Harry Boyd, Tom Gorman and Dom Bensley picked up myriad possessions around the ground.
Division Three continued their winning streak with a 26-point win over Sydney Uni at Gore Hill. In a low-scoring game, the Bombers kicked the only goal of the first half and then kicked three goals to one in the third to put the game out of the Students’ reach. Sam Hynes, James Weiling and Yianni Fotias were everywhere around the ground in a defensive match in which the Bombers shut the Students out of the contest.
Division Four returned to the winning list with an 11-point win over UTS in the late game at Gore Hill. It was a low-scoring encounter, with scoring hard to come by; and there was never much separating the two teams. But the Bombers scored the only goal of the second half, enough to get over the line. Hailey Vogrig, Spencer McIntosh and Ryan Heath were prolific ball-winners, making the key plays that got the Bombers to the win.
Division Five tried hard to stay within striking distance of UNSW-ES in their clash at Gore Hill Oval, and the Bulldogs were missing plenty of shots. But in the end the Bombers weren’t able to get enough of the ball to put the Bulldogs under pressure. Lachie Quigley, Harrison Davis and Hugh Grieves battled tirelessly; but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Bombers suffering a 33-point loss.
It wasn’t Under 19.5s Division One’s day as they went down to Pennant Hills by 36 points at Mike Kenny Oval. The Demons got the early jump with four unanswered goals in the first quarter, and the Bombers were never able to get back into the contest. The effort was always there, but the Bombers never looked able to make a comeback after the early Demon onslaught. Zach Duane, Jack Blazey and Levi Macri worked hard, but it wasn’t the result we wanted.
Under 19.5s Division Two were also unable to get the result they were looking for, playing against Manly in the early game at Gore Hill. The Wolves got out to a lead early, kicking five goals in the blink of an eye; and the Bombers were left to chase the game, falling 50 points short. Lachlan Tam, Aarish Mistry and Elias Saffioti never stopped putting the effort in, but the result was not to be.

WOMENS
Premier Division was one-way traffic all day, with the Bombers untroubled in recording a 152-0 win over bottom side Pennant Hills at Mike Kenny Oval. Adrienne Keeffe was unstoppable, landing 10 goals in a best-on-ground performance, while Abbey Martin chipped in with five goals and Ella Daniel picked up enormous possession numbers. But it was hard to find a Bomber player who wasn’t in control, as the Bombers turned on an impressive display to record another percentage-boosting win.
It was one that got away for Division One in their clash with Manly at Weldon Oval. Scores were level at the long break, and there was only five points in it at three quarter time. The lead see-sawed in the last quarter, but the Bombers were an agonising six points short at the final siren. Maddy Fogarty, Emma Ferrante and Ellie Shefts were standouts for the Bombers, but in the end it was a heart-breaking afternoon.
Division Two had a tough draw, matched against top side Camden at Gore Hill. The Bombers scored the first goal, but the Cats soon snatched the lead and the Bombers were never able to regain the advantage; held scoreless in the second half. Natasha Newham, Georgia Manning and Issy Smith kept the workrate going all day, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 52-point loss.
It was a tough day for Division Three in their clash against Sydney Uni at Gore Hill. The Bombers were held to a single point, unable to repeat the massive win of last week against a very strong Students lineup. Megan Soutter, Erin Byrne and Hannah Maher worked hard, but it wasn’t our day and the Bombers would go down by 59 points.
Under 20s have hit their straps in recent weeks, and again were good enough to take the points in an early game on the lower oval at Mike Kenny Oval. Trailing by three points at the first change, the Bombers made the decisive break in the second term with four unanswered goals, and were never headed from there. Sian Cowperthwaite, Bec Fagg and Eloise Halloran played key roles in an impressive Bomber performance.
