The Seniors and Reserves of both Mens and Wpmens, along with the Mens Under 19.5s Division One and Womens Under 20s had the week off. While AFL Sydney Rep teams were in action, with North Shore players representing our league with distinction in wins over AFL Canberra.

Meanwhile, our eight remaining teams took the field. Seven games back to back at Gore Hill, and one away fixture. And it was a successful weekend for North Shore; with seven of those teams took the chocolates.

MENS

While our defending premiership teams in Premier Division, Division One and Under 19.5s Division One had the week off, our remaining teams took to the field.

In Division Two, the Bombers won every quarter to comfortably account for East Coast’s reserves at Gore Hill. Harry Barnum, Tom Gillis and Tyson McCallum were influential for the Bombers in a game where they always looked the stronger side and returned to the winning list in style.

Division Three were given a scare by Camden, but in the end their unbeaten run in 2025 remains intact. Playing in the late game at Gore Hill, the Bombers took the lead for the first time shortly before three quarter time, and the first two goals of the last quarter gave them enough of a buffer to hold the Cats out in a thriller. Henry Franklin scored four goals in a best-on-ground performance, while James Weiling and James Hunt also made important contributions.

Our only away game for the weekend was Division Four, who hit the road to Picken Oval to take on Inner West Magpies. The first half was closely contested, with only a kick in it at the long break. But five unanswered goals in the third quarter gave the Bombers the upper hand; and a 42-point win was the final result. Jackson Capp was unstoppable up forward to finish with six goals; while Lachlan Ramm and Tom Gorman also played impressive games.

It was one-way traffic for Division Five North-West against East Coast at Gore Hill. Each quarter saw the Bombers add a bigger score than the quarter before as they dominated around the ground. The final margin was 142 points. Matt Lee and Ben Key made an unstoppable two-pronged scoring machine, with Lee finishing with seven goals and Key six; while Zac Herron was also influential around the ground.

It wasn’t an easy game for Division Five City-South, playing against UTS in the early game at Gore Hill. The effort was there, but it didn’t go to plan. Ed Toole, Hailey Vogrig and Ross Fitzpatrick worked hard all morning; but it wasn’t enough to take the game as the Bombers went down by 84 points.

Under 19.5s Division Two had few difficulties in getting past Manly under lights at Gore Hill. A four goals to one first half laid a solid platform, and a five-goal run in the third term put the issue beyond doubt as the Bombers cruised to a 56-point win, Sam Jackson added another four goals to his already-impressive season tally; while Nate Howson, Jensen Brownlaw and Tom Roche were in the thick of the action around the ground.

WOMENS

Premier Division, Division One and Under 20s had the week off this week; while Div 2 and Div 3 had important wins, a reward for effort in games where they were made to dig deep.

The Division Two game was a cracker, a low-scoring affair in which you could cut the tension with a knife. But when the game was there to be won, the Bombers put their hand up, stood and delivered; and got the job done by nine points. Emma Greene, Heidi Charles and Charlotte Kearney played massive games to get the Bombers over the line in a thriller.

Division Three enjoyed their first win of the season, getting over the line in a low-scoring thriller. Goals were hard to come by, but the Bombers took the upper hand by scoring the only two goals of the first half. Neither team scored in the third quarter, but when the Wolves goaled with five minutes to go in the last, it was going down to the wire. But the Bombers hung on for dear life; and singing the song felt so good.
