It was a weekend of big wins. Both our Premier Division teams had three-figure winning margins, and there were plenty of big wins through the divisions as well.
Has any senior footy club ever had 11 of their teams win on the one day? We may have made history on Saturday. A day when 14 of our teams took the field and no less than 11 took out the chocolates; including a clean sweep at the Goretress.

Premier Division bounced back from their loss last week in style against South-West Sydney at Gore Hill. The Blues challenged early and led by a point at quarter time, but the Bombers took the upper hand in the second quarter; before the floodgates opened in the second half and we raced away to a 113-point win. Ryan Hebron scored six goals and Pat Bolger five, while Jake Veale and Pierce Roseby were prominent performers for the Bombers.
Division One had a tight contest against Parramatta in the late game at Gore Hill. The Bombers created plenty of chances in the first half, but some inaccurate finishing saw them fall behind the Goannas for much of the day. But, finishing full of running, the Goannas were run down in the last quarter to complete a nine-point win. Jack Dillon, Charlie Silvester and Adam Bastas were superb on a night when our Bombers had to dig deep to get the win done.
Also coming from behind to take the points was Division Two in a wind-affected game at Pioneers Park against Randwick City. It was a game of momentum shifts, but the Bombers came home with the wind to get the job done by nine points. Tom Lewis, Tom Gillis and Matt Gill were standouts for the Bombers in a game where the Bombers stood up when the game was there to be won.
Division Three got up in a thriller at Olds Park. After getting out to an early lead, they were reeled in and scores were level at the last change. But when the game was in the balance, the Bombers were there to be counted and got the job done. Cameron Thomas, James Gibson and Harry White were instrumental in getting the Bombers over the line.
Division Four were at Pioneers Park taking on Randwick City. The game was in the balance in the first half, and we led by a goal at the long break. But the decisive move came in the third quarter, with the Bombers holding the Saints goal-less in the premiership quarter to set up a 14-point win. Tom Gorman, Sam Hynes and Matt Worley played pivotal roles in the Bombers’ success to retain their undefeated status.
It was a one-sided affair at Mike Kenny Oval for Division Five North-West. The defence held firm all day, and the Demons were unable to score. At the other end, Matthew Lee ran rampant to finish with six goals; while Cameron Honey and Sam Steinberg were constantly gathering more possessions. It was a great session by our Sixths, as they dominated from start to finish.
Division Five City-South were in action at David Phillips Oval against UNSW-ES. The Bulldogs got out to an early lead, and the Bombers were unable to make up the gap, going down by 61 points. Hunter Turner, Mackenzie Hill and Billy Elsum worked tirelessly all afternoon for the Bombers.
Under 19.5s Division One were in complete control against South-West Sydney, and were it not for some inaccurate finishing in the last quarter would have scored the elusive double-century. The Bombers had goal-scoring options everywhere, with Nate Howson finishing with seven goals and Cooper Clarke six, while Ethan Kingsley picked up enormous possession numbers. No less than 12 North Shore players kicked goals, while all played their roles to near perfection.
Under 19.5s Division Two were also in a dominant mood as they ran all over Pennant Hills in the early game at Gore Hill to run out 130-point winners. Sam Jackson booted six goals and Jordy Feurtado four, with 12 Bombers getting onto the goal-kickers list; Jackson along with Evan Ausling and Ben Hocking was among the Bombers’ best in what was a one-sided display by our young Bombers.

WOMENS
It doesn’t get more dominant than the display of our Premier Division team as they played Parramatta at Gore Hill. From the start, the goals were coming with regularity, while the Goannas were unable to score all afternoon, rarely going anywhere near their forward 50. In the end, the scoreline was 172-0. Adrienne Keeffe landed seven goals and Marlee Barnet-Hepples four, with a total of 13 Bomber players kicking goals; while Sophie Kavanagh and Heidi de Saxe were prolific around the ground.
Division One were in a low-scoring contest at Gore Hill. Trailing by 11 points at the long break, the Bombers tightened the defence and would only concede one behind in the second half as they came from behind to complete a 14-point win. Imogen Hungerford, Emily Davis and Isobel Edmunds were instrumental in finding a way back into the contest in the third term and going on with the job in the last quarter to get it done.
It was a thriller for Division Two, as they travelled to Pioneers Park for a clash against Randwick City. Falling behind early, the Bombers fought back superby as the game went on, taking the lead for the first time in the final quarter and holding on for a hard-fought five point win. Brianna Gorman, Emma Greene and Hannah Collins stood up and were counted when the game was in the balance and played key roles in getting the Bombers over the line.
Division Three put in a superb fighting effort on the road at Olds Park. With a lineup consisting of plenty of new players who hadn’t played much footy before, they gave St George a fright when they scored the only two goals of the first quarter. Unfortunately they weren’t able to hold onto that lead, but defended superbly to hold the Dragons to four goals; with Meg Heslip, Georgia Hetherington and Uma van Egmond-Jones playing prominent roles as the Bombers put up a great fight.
Under 20s were in action at Weldon Oval against Manly, but it wasn’t our day. Our young Bombers battled hard, with Ava Thomas, Olivia Belger and Krysta Smith battling hard against the odds; but unfortunately it ended with a 76-point loss.
