We’ve trained through the summer, and now the time has come to put the skills and drills to use; as the opening round of a new season gets under way on Saturday 1st April,
AFL Sydney have released the fixtures for the season; and we’ve got a full round of matches to kick the season off.
Our Mens Premier Division team, looking to go one better after last year’s Grand Final appearance, start with a home fixture against UTS at 1:30pm at Gore Hill. Premier Reserves will be on immediately after this at 3:50pm.
Our Womens Seniors and Reserves will also be in action against UTS at Gore Hill. It’s a lunchtime spectacular for Premier Division, getting under way at 11:50am; with the Division One fixture coming before it at 10:10am.
A restructure in Sydney footy this season sees our Mens Thirds, on the back of the premiership last year, move into Platinum Division; with Mens Fourths now playing in Platinum Reserves. Those two teams will be heading out to Blacktown International Sportspark to take on Macquarie Uni, with Thirds at 2:50pm and Fourths at 12:50pm.
After taking out the premiership last season, our Womens Thirds are promoted to Division Two. They’ll be kicking off their premiership defence with an away fixture against Newtown at Mahoney Park, with the first bounce at 12:40pm. Our Womens Fourths, who will be competing in Division Four, will also travel to Mahoney Park to take on Newtown, with a 10:40am start.
With the move of our Mens Thirds & Fourths to Platinum Division, our Mens Fifths remains as our sole team in Division Two. They have an early start, travelling to Picken Oval for a clash with Wests starting at 8:30am.
Mens Sixths will be competing in Division Three again in 2023. They will open the season’s action at Gore Hill, with an 8:30am first bounce scheduled for their clash against UTS.
North Shore has an exciting Under 19s program and we have high hopes for our young Bombers in 2023. We will again be fielding two Under 19s teams. Under 19s Division One have a twilight fixture against UTS at Gore Hill, getting under way at 5:50pm. Under 19s Division Two’s premiership defence gets under way with an away trip to Mike Kenny Oval to take on Pennant Hills, getting under way at 9:10am.
After round one, we’ll take a week off for Easter. Round 2 will be on Saturday 15th April, where our Gore Hill program will feature the unfurling of three premiership flags.
