Heavy rain has seen most grounds in Sydney closed; with only Gore Hill and one other venue across the entire city remaining open.
Unfortunately, the AFL have advised that they have cancelled all non-Premier division games this weekend. With our Mens Premier Division already having the bye, our only game will be the Womens Premier Division game at 1:10pm at Gore Hill.
As a club our strong preference was to retain our home games for all our divisions, but ultimately this was the AFL’s call. With some luck and better weather, this round will be made up later in the season for all other grades.
Meanwhile, we have to deal with the hand dealt. Our season launch function tomorrow is full steam ahead and we do need to fulfil our assigned match day duties to operate the canteen. We also need ground management and timekeeping for our Prem’s Women’s match.
There will be other games before and after our Womens Prems game. We don’t need to ground manage, timekeep etc those games; but we do need to keep the canteen running all day. The canteen takings all day are ours.
Please let all players and volunteers know of the reschedule, and if anyone is unable to fulfil obligations, they need to find a replacement. As a last resort, if unable to provide cover, please advise Peter (matchday@northshorefc.com.au).
Finally, let’s all try to get out to GHO at 1.10 pm to watch our Prem Women kick off their season versus Macquarie University – and kick on into the season launch after that.
