The North Shore Bombers Masters team traveled way from the comforts of GHO to take on Sydney Uni under lights at Henson Park , a little under manned on foot soldiers and personnel, the typical observer may have determined that it was a tough day in the office for the newly formed Bombers masters team up against a slick and well drilled unit in Sydney Uni.
As cliche as it sounds the Masters concept is not about WIN/LOSS but about turning up and having a go and that’s what the North Shore masters did, with pride and effort they played admirably and always competing , whilst the scoreboard suggested a one sided affair , the North shore bombers played with spirit and determination , with some further time playing with the group there is only an upward trend .
Some great performances for first gamers in Mark Folkes, Tim Blazey , Peter Connaire with Best on ground performances from the likes of midfielder Robbie Wright, Phil Zammit who was solid at half back and gave some good run and clearance from defence , Greg Thomas was outstanding at back and pinch hitted through the centre to show his versatility, Steve Wall was a late welcomed addition in the line up and provided great support in the backline when the heat was on. Brian Jackson did the grunt work on his pat malone in the ruck and was terrific .
Round 3 on the 1st June sees us travelling away again vs Wollondilly in the South West .
