Four premierships. What a remarkable weekend it was for North Shore.
On Saturday, history was made as both Mens Premier Division and Womens Premier Division took out premierships; possibly the first time ever that the same club has won both Premier Division titles on the same day. Mens Division One was also successful in its Grand Final.
But we know you want more. So on Sunday, Mens Division Four fought out a thriller, going to extra time and finally the Bombers prevailed by a point.
Completing a remarkable season for our club. 14 teams took the field, 12 made finals, five made Grand Finals and four took out premierships. Hundreds played for North Shore, so many coached and volunteered as our club did something very special.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to North Shore’s success in 2025. Let’s make 2026 even better!!

MENS
For the second year in a row, Mens Premier Division took on Manly in the Grand Final; and last year’s result was to repeat as the Bombers were again victorious. The first half was an arm-wrestle as the Bombers threatened to run away, only for the Wolves to peg them back. There was three points in it at the long break, but the decisive break came in the third term as the Bombers ran through three unanswered goals. Then the floodgates opened with a six-goal final quarter as the Bombers romped to a 39-point win. Fraser Thurlow won the Podbury Medal as best on ground; while Tom Gillis contributed four goals, and James Tidemann, Harry Walker and Ned Campbell played solid games to get the Bombers over the line.
For the third year on the trot, our Reserves took out the premiership when Division One completed a 23-point win over Parramatta. It was tight early, and the Goannas got on top in the second term to lead by 13 points at the long break. But the Bombers came out breathing fire in the second half and got themselves back into the contest, cutting the deficit back to one point at the last change. And it didn’t take long in the final term for the Bombers to take the lead, and from there it was one-way traffic, a run of four unanswered goals in the final term. Kieran Fulton landed six goals in a best-on-ground performance.
Division Four played an absolute thriller on Sunday against Manly. Leading by five points at the long break, the Bombers found themselves in trouble as the Wolves landed six goals in the third term, and were 18 points down at three quarter time. But the Bombers weren’t done yet, and came storming back in the last quarter with four goals to one. When the final siren sounded, the teams couldn’t be separated and extra time was brought on. Two periods of extra time produced scores of 1.1 apiece, the clock continuing to run until the next score would decide the game. A behind for us was enough to secure the win. Jackson Capp was awarded best on ground; while Ed Taffa landed four goals and Kieran Dean and Jack Watson were prominent contributors in a thrilling win.

WOMENS
A remarkable premiership for our Baby Bombers. Not only our club’s first Womens Premier Division premiership, but by far the youngest premiership team ever, a team with 13 players who were eligible to play Under 20s this year. Two first quarter goals was a positive start, but the Students hit back and scores were level at half time. It was tight, and the Bombers led by six points at the last change; and defended grimly to hold the Students goal-less, the Bombers scoring the only goal of the quarter to complete a 10-point win. Lucy Yates took out the best on ground medal, while Amelia Rainbow and Zoe Hurrell were superb for the Bombers all day.
