MENS
Major Semi-Final day for Premier Division, and a local derby against Manly. It was goal for goal in the first quarter, but the Bombers opened a decisive break in the second quarter with a run of five goals to one to stretch the lead to 29 points at the long break. The Wolves never looked like getting back into the contest, and every attempt sailed wide of the big sticks as they were held to one goal in the second half. In the end, the Bombers recorded a 60-point win; enough to comfortably make their way into the Grand Final. Nick Pavlou, Christian Loone and James Tidemann were superb in a solid team performance.
Division One was in an evening Major Semi-Final at Blacktown against Parramatta. The Goannas held a 14-point lead at half time, but the Bombers got back into the game in the third quarter, cutting the margin to five points at the last change. When the Goannas kicked the first two goals of the last quarter, the Bombers were in trouble. But they kept coming, landing two late goals and getting the final margin back to two points. They kept surging in the final seconds of the game, but were unable to find the winner. Luke Robertson, Elmore Alexander and Kieran Fulton put in strong efforts; but the Bombers will have to play the Preliminary Final next week.
Division Four are through to the Grand Final after a 22-point win over Newtown in the Major Semi-Final at Bruce Purser Reserve. The Bombers burst out of the blocks with four unanswered goals in the first quarter, going on with the job with the first eight goals of the game and leading by 45 points at the last change. The cue was back in the rack in the last quarter, but by then the game was safely won. Nick McLachlan, Jackson Capp and Tom Gorman were dominant figures around the ground in another imposing performance that got the Bombers through to the premiership decider.
Major Semi-Final day never really got going for Under 19.5s Division One. They were never able to hit their straps, and were unable to land a goal. Henry Charles, Sam Clancy and Lewis Whiley battled tirelessly, but it wasn’t our day. But they get another chance in next week’s Preliminary Final.

WOMENS
North Shore are through to the Womens Premier Division Grand Final for the first time in the club’s history, doing it in style with a 56-point win in the Major Semi-Final against Manly at Blacktown on Saturday. Three unanswered goals in the first quarter set the tone for the afternoon, one in which the Wolves were unable to manage a goal as the Bombers surged ahead in every quarter. Adrienne Keeffe landed four goals; while Heidi de Saxe, Zoe Hurrell and Grace Parsons were ball magnets around the ground. The Bombers go into the Grand Final in solid form, and are ready to create a slice of history.
It was an early start on Sunday morning at Blacktown for Division One in the Preliminary Final, a spot in the Grand Final on the line. It was tight early, neither side scoring in the first quarter. The Bombers led by a point at half time and four points at three quarter time. But in a heart-breaking finale, the Students scored a late goal to take the lead and the Bombers missed out by just four points. Grace Thomas, Elle Carroll and Zoe Milligan were tireless; but in the end it was a hard way to finish the season.
After the giant-killing emotional win for Division Two in last week’s Elimination Final, Division Two were unable to replicate that performance in the Minor Semi-Final at Rosedale. East Coast were in control all afternoon, and the Bombers were unable to score. Ellie Shefts, Georgia Manning and Lucy Rowse battled hard against the odds; but it wasn’t our day and the season for our Division Two team came to an end.
It was a heart-breaker for Under 20s in their Preliminary Final on Saturday morning. The Bombers defended superbly, but goals were hard to come by. In a low-scoring contest, the Bombers were unable to score a goal in the first half. There was 12 points in it at the last change. An early goal in the last quarter got the Bombers within striking distance; but although plenty of chances were created, the Bombers were unable to find the equaliser. Erica Blazey, Charli Griebel and Jacinta Dyer worked hard, but unfortunately the Bombers were an agonising one goal short of a Grand Final appearance.
