North Shore will be celebrating Back to Bears Day on Saturday 17th June. It’s a day when we honour the history of our club; a long and proud record that goes back to 1903. When we celebrate those who have gone before us, and invite them to return to the scene of past glories.
This year’s Back to Bears Day will be 10 years since our last Senior premiership, and we’d love to see members of our 2007 team return to Gore Hill for the day. One of them, Ryan Meldrum, is now coaching the Premier Division team.
There’s also plenty of on-field action, with six of our teams in action. The first game will start at 8:05am, and the action will be non-stop into the evening. For the Premier Division team, it’s a crunch game against Pennant Hills from 2pm.
It’s also a historic day for our club, as it will be the last day at Gore Hill in its current form. As we wrote about last week, the ground is shortly to be redeveloped; including resurfacing and the construction of new facilities. But on this day, we’ll see the clubhouse that we’ve known and loved for years off in style with a massive day of footy and partying on into the night.
After the matches are done and dusted, we’ll be celebrating into the night in the clubhouse. It’s a Tropical Theme party, so come dressed to impress. We’ll have prizes for the best dressed.
The Tropical party will be $10 entry, with finger food provided and drinks on sale as the bar will be open throughout.
Mark Saturday 17th June in our diary and make sure you get to Mortgage Choice Oval on the day.
