Yesterday we celebrated the victory of our Under 19’s in the Division 1 Grand Final. 4 Years ago Jamie O’Dell took over the coaching duties of the junior team. In those early days the club struggled to field a team week in, week out. The permit players of junior clubs allowed the team to survivor the tough 2012 season. In 2013 the team faltered against sides on top of it on the ladder. The 2014 season was a testament to the building blocks that were put in place. The team finished second on the ladder and won 10 of 11 games heading into the Grand Final but as we know the team fell short.
Driven by the pain of the 2014 Season. The Under 19s squad set out to make amends for falling short last year. A rocky start to the season had North Shore 5 wins and 3 losses after 8 rounds with the three losses coming to eventual finals teams St George, Pennant Hills and UNSW/ES. Round 11 saw the Bombers embarrassed by the Manly-Warringah Giants team 72-27 in what was the worse loss for the squad. It was a turning point in the season with North Shore winning 9 of the next 10 games (including the Grand Final).
To the players of the team, the coaches, volunteers and our supporters thank you for your help in the 2015 Season. This club could not celebrate another premiership without your efforts throughout the year.
